The stereotypical image of black plastic fishing glasses probably entered into your mind a time or two when you first read the title of the article but there is a lot more to a quality pair of fishing sunglasses than you may know. First and foremost, any good pair of glasses will reduce the amount of glare or eye strain along with protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays. But aside from the protection standpoint a quality pair of glasses will also allow you to spot fish and make out structures or features hidden under the water’s surface. Being able to clearly see the stream bottom you are about to fish will not only help you to fish more efficiently; but also help you to wade the respective stream more safely and easily.

Fishing long periods of time in glasses that have a large distortion effect will cause discomfort for your eyes and most likely bring about a headache.
Polarized glasses are simply not what they used to be. They offer that avid outdoorsman many advantages, from seeing clearer to complete eye protection.
